Category: accessible Devices
I have a 1 month demo of a focus 14 blue, and found out after I received it that the organization
had "issues pairing it with their computer."
In reality I am able to pair it to any device (windows 10, windows 7, android) but I cannot get any
braille output at all. I know it is on and pairing because the perkins keyboard works to control the
devices I am connected to. But I cannot get braille from the internal menus when the device isn't
connected to anything, or from NVDA, or from JAWS 16, or from Brailleback. I did install the
drivers from freedom scientific's site.
I tried to toggle display test mode on to see if anything would happen, and nothing again. No
braille at all.
Is there anything that isn't a hardware issue that might be causing no braille output, or is this
device doomed and I should just send it back?
this is a hardware issue. I've unfortunately seen this a half dozen times or so with the 14 and I've not found a fix short of a repair by FS.
What I feared. Thanks for letting me know.
